Bigfoot (plural Bigfeet) is a hostile creature and the primary antagonist during the events of BIGFOOT.
Appearance[]
Bigfoot is the largest creature in the game. Currently, there are four Bigfoot variants - two variants which are included as part of the base game, and two variants that can be purchased as paid DLC, used in the player versus player mode. The skins are purely cosmetic, and do not change Bigfoot's combat abilities.
- "Brown Default" is a selectable skin, and the default appearance of Bigfoot on the Redwood Park map. This skin has reddish-brown fur, glowing red eyes, a tan face and chest, and leather bindings on its upper right and lower left arms.
- "White Default" is a selectable skin, and the default appearance of Bigfoot on the Winter Park map. This skin has white-grey fur, glowing green eyes, a paler face and chest than the "Brown Default", and the same leather bindings on the upper and lower arms.
- ”Red Default” is a selectable skin, and the default appearance of Bigfoot on the Redwood park map. It has dark red fur with lighter skin.
- "Druid" is a paid DLC skin, and features darker fur than the "Brown Default" skin. This skin also adds a red shawl and bone jewelry to Bigfoot, as well as an intimidating horned skull mask.
- "Monkey King" is a paid DLC skin, which has Bigfoot's upper body and lower arms covered in a dark grey/blue fur, leaving their head and upper arms with the darker brown fur of the "Brown Default" skin.
When playing versus AI, the appearance of Bigfoot will be determined by what map is loaded.
Abilities[]
Both the AI-controlled and player-controlled Bigfoot share the same pool of passive and activated abilities. Passive abilities are usable (or trigger) at any time, whereas active abilities have a brief cool-down period between uses and may also use Bigfoot's energy pool, noted as appropriate.
Passive Abilities[]
- Knocking - Bigfoot may attack a tree to produce a sequence of three loud, distinct "knocking" noises. These noises are audible from a very long distance, and can serve as a means of either drawing hunters to your location or intimidating them.
- Scent Tracking - When a player-controlled Bigfoot is around a scent emitting object, such as food, meat, wild animals, or hunters, they may receive a "Scent Found" prompt. Pressing the prompt key (G) displays a wispy trail of grey smoke towards whatever object triggered the prompt. It is currently unknown if this ability has a cool-down, or is always passively enabled.
- Electronic Disruption - Electronics, such as lights, cameras, and drones, within a close distance of Bigfoot rapidly flash on and off (in the case of lights), or have a static-washed filter (in the case of the camera and drone cameras). Clever hunters can use this as an early warning sign that Bigfoot is close, even if they are not currently visible.
- Health Regeneration - When damaged, Bigfoot can recover a certain amount of health as shown by the light grey portion of the health bar by eating food, whether that takes the form of meat from animal carcasses or baited traps left by the hunters, to random foods left behind at the various points of interest on the map. Note that there is no way of cancelling the eating animation if you are playing as Bigfoot, which takes approximately five seconds to complete and leaves Bigfoot vulnerable to hunter attacks. Hunters can stun Bigfoot out of the eating animation with a well-aimed flare gun shot or signal flare.
- Damage Resistance - Bigfoot has a 20% damage resistance to any damage taken during night.
Active Abilities[]
- Melee Attack - Bigfoot swipes out, dealing a small amount of damage to any target hit.
- Rage - When activated, Bigfoot enters a brief "enraged" state. In this state, Bigfoot's abilities and attacks have a decreased stamina cost for the duration of the rage.
- Howl (3 Energy) - When activated, Bigfoot will emit a loud roar which can be heard from a great distance. After roaring, a player-controlled Bigfoot's screen will be tinted red, with a darker and cloudier portion of their screen showing the general location of any hunters at the time of the howl.
- Furious Throw - When activated, Bigfoot will quickly grab out. If the Bigfoot makes contact with a hunter, they will pick the hunter up and slam them to the ground, causing the hunter to fall prone and dealing medium damage, as well as leaving them open to attack while they recover.
- Savage Hits - This ability will trigger a three-hit combo on any target within melee range of Bigfoot. The third hit will knock the victim prone, leaving them open to attack while they recover.
- Ram Run (20 Energy) - When activated, Bigfoot will briefly crouch and then quickly rush forward a short distance, knocking any victims in their path over. Bigfoot can steer left and right during the rush, but isn't very maneuverable.
- Fatality - When activated, Bigfoot performs a brief animation as they brutally kill a hunter.
- Trap - When activated, Bigfoot is able to place down a rudimentary trap, which appears as a noose with a thick rope ascending into the canopy. The trap must be placed under a tree's branches, and will trigger when stepped in by a hunter, dragging them upwards. Hunters can quickly press a prompt to escape the trap, taking minimal damage; otherwise, they will be fully caught in the trap, taking heavy damage. Note: as of April of 2023 this ability is currently bugged when playing as Bigfoot, to fix it, you must bind it to any key that is not the default key for it in the settings. To use it you still press the default key despite rebinding it though.
Hunting Bigfoot[]
There are a few ways to conquer the beast as it tries to slaughter you:
- Traps: Traps can be placed down with or without meat. A trap placed with meat will cause the Bigfoot to walk into it when it gets within a certain distance of it. Upon the Trap being sprung the Beast will unleash a powerful roar which can be echoed across the map so the Player can hear. The trap will cause a gray area on the Bigfoot's health bar.
- Attacking head on: Tackling the creature head on is the most dangerous as the Bigfoot is able to stun the player before running away. In large teams, Bigfoot has a set pattern for attacking. He can be seen hunting a single hunter, before running to the next. Upon his first attack of the night, Bigfoot will target all players in order until he has attacked them all. This can be used as a team of 4 to bait Bigfoot into attack one person while the rest of the people shoot him. If done correctly, this strategy can do over half of Bigfoot's health in a single night.
- When playing against the AI Bigfoot, it will not start trying to attack you until the second night. The current best strategy for quickly dispatching Bigfoot for begins or those who wish to end a game quickly is using a zip-line by placing a trap + explosive at the end and attacking it when it gets trapped and harmed by the explosive and then zipping away when it has recovered. This will allow you to kill Bigfoot within 4 nights.
- Collecting Evidence: If you don't want to fight Bigfoot or you want a larger challenge while leaving the beast alive, there is a set of objectives which you can follow. These entail getting photos of the bodies of the missing tourists, Bigfoot footprints, tree scratches, and of Bigfoot itself.
Killing Bigfoot[]
Upon the last remaining health point depleted the Bigfoot will stop in Its tracks and will collapse to the ground in defeat, signaling the end of the hunt.
Trivia[]
- A cave can be found which contains deer bones, gore, and sometimes loot. This is likely the home of Bigfoot.
- Bigfoot's "knocking" ability is based on real-world cryptozoological theories, which holds that Bigfeet communicate over long distances by producing loud knocking noises against trees, much like in the game.
- Although stated to be an omnivore in the game guide, Bigfoot is shown in game as being near-exclusively carnivorous, depicted devouring the slain hunters in their "Victory" screen and feasting on animals during the game.
- In previous versions of the game you were able to capture Bigfoot drag it back to your base camp.
- When jumping with Bigfoot, when you jump from a structure, just as you start to fall you can jump in the air, allowing you to reach areas such as the RV roof or Camp House #5.
- In Older Version known as 2017, 2018, 2019, Bigfoot had several caves the first in Jasper national Park is in the north east in the mountains, a second can be found on the south east, these cave have several deer heads and bones along with an item. in the South East Cave you can find Thor hammer as a Easter egg in the cave. In 2018 A cave can be found in the mountain in the very far North of spawn. As well for 2019 the cave is around the same location while in Ross lake Bigfoot has more of a hut made of sticks if there a Cave for Ross lake it either not been discovered or I do not know of the Cave.
